LOVETT ~ Willie Lee Lovett, 60, passed peacefully Friday, July 3, 2020 in the comfort of his home in Jacksonville, Florida. Willie was born, July 7, 1960 to the late Clayton Wilson Lovett and Ella Mae Truck.
Willie was raised in Miami, Florida. He attended Naranja Elementary, Redland Middle and South Dade Senior High School. Upon completion of high school, Willie furthered his education by attending Livingston College in North Carolina for two years. One year later, he returned to Miami, Florida and enlisted in the U S Navy where he served four years of honorable service. In 1985, Willie moved to West Palm Beach, Florida and later relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, were he met Felecia Samuel. He was a loving brother, uncle, and friend to many. Willie always had a positive attitude. He loved sports and making good conversation.
He is survived by his brother, Johnny Lee Lovett, Sr. (Pamela Cooks); nephews, Johnny Lee Lovett, Jr. and Calvin Wilson; two great nephews; two great nieces, all whom loved him very much; uncle, Nathaniel Brown (A.K.A. “Uncle Sug”); best friends, Ricky Day, Clint Liddell, Mike Johnson; a number of relatives and friends including Felecia Samuel; and his love for Queenie.
Celebration of Life Service for Willie Lee Lovett will be Saturday, July 18, 2020 at The Soutel Chapel, Pastor Johnny Legons, Officiating. Family will receive friends at The Soutel Chapel Friday from 5 – 7 PM. Interment at Jacksonville National Cemetery Monday, July 20, 2020 at 11:00 AM.
