Thomas ~ Elder Willie Thomas, Sr. was born in Paris, Georgia to J. C. & Ophelia Thomas August 27, 1931.
He enjoyed preaching the gospel, playing the drums, singing and fishing. Elder Thomas was a kind and loving man. He served at Atlantic Beach First Born Church of The Living God and Zion Temple First Born Church of The Living God for many years. Elder Thomas was an excellent father and minister of the gospel. God called this warrior to rest and he will be deeply missed.
Elder Thomas was preceded in death by his children, Gwendolyn, Dorothy, Janet, Brenda, Theresa and Ronald; parents, J. C. & Ophelia Thomas. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Patricia Thomas; children, Betty Powers (Clarence), Patricia Williams (Halle), Mary Moore (Derrick), Ruthie Reddick, Willie Thomas, Jr, Janice Tolliver, Angela Thomas, Alicia Thomas (Shawn), Michael Thomas (Shenae); stepchildren, Tamara Ann, Verchell, Xavier; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; siblings, Jewel Thomas, Naomi Thomas, Sylvester Thomas; a host of relatives and friends, especially his church family.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Elder Willie Thomas, Sr., 11 AM Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Zion Temple First Born Church of The Living God. Visitation Friday from 5 – 7 PM at The Soutel Chapel. Because of the love of his family, arrangements entrusted to J. E. Fralin & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services, 5065 Soutel Dr, 904.924.9400.
