Roberts ~ Willie George Roberts was born December 14, 1943 to Willie George Cox and Myrtle “Betty” Roberts. He attended the local schools of Duval County.
A devoted husband and family man who accepted Christ in 1983. He was a member of Philippian Community Church and later changed his membership to Wayman Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church. Willie worked in sales with numerous awards for his performance. He was an active member of Kappa Alpha Psi since his days as an alum of Edward Waters College.
Willie enjoyed life to the fullest – he enjoyed sports, getting together with family and friends, and traveling. He was very outgoing and never met a stranger; everybody knew Willie.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Cox and Myrtle Roberts; sisters, Joyce Jacquelyn Lumpkin Curry & Priscila Ann Lumpkin Crowder; nephew, Darryl Kevin Glover. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Sandra Alvita Harris Roberts; children, Chauncey Lamar Roberts, Nolan Gerard (Marly) Roberts, Monica Faye Roberts, Jason Paul Roberts; grandchildren, Alfred Charles Johnson Jr, Jadon Jamahl Roberts, Jordan Joran Roberts, Sydney Amai Gooden, Londyn Gabrielle Gooden, Maaz Joel Nuri, Zain Ayaan Nuri; sisters, Brilla Smith, Nancy Rollins; many nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family and friends.
Celebration of Life service for Willie George Roberts will be 11:00AM Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Wayman Temple A M E Church (West Campus), 1176 Labelle Street.
