Lynch ~ The Beginning: Thomas Paschal Lynch, Jr. was the first child born of seven to the union of Thomas Paschal Lynch, Sr. and Minnie Groom Lynch May 25, 1945, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was reared and received his education in local schools in Jacksonville, Florida. Thomas accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church. He later joined New Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church.
His Life: After completing high school, he began his career in the culinary field working at Morrison Cafeteria, Piccadilly and Golden Coral Restaurants retiring with over forty years of service. After retiring he started his second career as a custodian at University Christian School and Jacksonville University until his health began to fail. He was a faithful member of New Bethel A.M.E. Church where he attended Sunday School, served on the Janie R. Robinson Usher Board, assisted with the Video Ministry and the Culinary Ministry. After his health began to fail, he was living at Raydiant Health Care where he was the “President” for the long term residents, but all staff and visitors referred to him as “The Mayor”. Thomas assisted staff with numerous activities, he made sure that all staff was secure upon entering the building for their shift.
His Hobbies: He enjoyed watching football, especially the Jacksonville Jaguars. During his early years he would attend wrestling matches. Thomas enjoyed playing spade, spending time with his family and attending various church events.
His Legacy: Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas P. Lynch, Sr. and Minnie G. Lynch; brother, Aubie W. Lynch. He leaves to cherish his love, sisters, Rhunell (Gregory) Wilson, Wanda Lynch, Louise (Eddie Sr.) Reid, Jeanette Thomas and Frances Lynch (his baby sister); sister-in-law, Vicky Lynch; special nieces and nephews, Ronda (Jonathan Sr.), Ja’Hann and Jonathan, Jr., Hannor; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The End: On January 14, 2023, Thomas received his Heavenly wings and was welcomed to his final home.
Celebration of Life service for Thomas Paschal Lynch, Jr. will be 11:00AM Saturday, January 21, 2023, at New Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church.
