Williams ~ The Life of a Man Who Always Had Your Back
Rubin Devon Williams was born September 2, 1975, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Gloria Seetram and Rubin L. Williams. He was educated through the Duval County school system and spent his high school years at First Coast High School and Paxon Senior High School.
Rubin was a jack of all trades. He worked in construction, and was a skilled concrete laborer, electrician, and carpenter. Rubin recently built a relaxation deck for his mother and was extremely proud of that last project, which he viewed as a testament of his love and devotion to her. Most recently, Rubin worked as a Security Guard at Allusions Restaurant and Lounge, a role that suited his protective spirit, strong presence, and his ability to make people laugh.
He was deeply loved and will be forever missed by his family. Rubin is survived by his pride and joy and only child – son, Julian Devon Williams. He also leaves behind his devoted mother, Gloria Seetram (Charles); father, Rubin L. Williams; sister, Natasha McGauley (Terrell); baby sister, Arwyn Jean-Michel (Robertson). Rubin was a devoted uncle, and his legacy continues through his nephews, Dahnvonta Williams, Ahmod Williams, Cavarious Colebrook, Camaree Colebrook, George Jean-Michel; and great nephew Keelan Bryant; only niece, Azariaha Washington, who will always carry his memory in her heart. Lastly, he leaves behind his cherished grandmothers, Ruthie Flowers and Vernell Johnson; many uncles, aunts, cousins; childhood friend and godbrother, Kelly Thompson; a host of friends who knew the strength, humor, and loyalty that defined his life.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Rubin Devon Williams, 11 AM Saturday, September 20, 2025, at North Jacksonville Church of God, 7600 Kenya Street. Visitation Friday from 5 – 7 PM at Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church, 5527 Redpoll Avenue. Interment in Restlawn Memorial Park North.
