Williams ~ Mr. Roy Williams, loving son of Mr. James and Mrs. Rose Williams was born December 6, 1934, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Roy was the fifth born of eleven children and eight predeceased him, Hazel Davion, Lawrence Williams, Dorothy Towe, Robert Williams, Rosemary Chase, Lloyd Williams, Herman Williams, Cleo Taylor.
He worked for the City of Montclair as a machine operator for over twenty-five years. Roy retired in 1997 and moved to North Carolina with his girlfriend, Ms. Etta Reid Taylor. After the passing of Ms. Taylor, Roy relocated to Jacksonville, Florida with his daughter & son-in-law, Rhonda & Paul Williams. He later moved to Jacksonville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Roy was known to have a love for gumbo, red beans and rice, catfish and cornbread – he had a love for beans. He also loved to play pitty pat card game with his siblings.
Roy leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, June Davis, Rhonda (Paul) Williams; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Willie Williams; sister, Lillie Williams; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends, including Regenia White (Newark, NJ) & Gena Harmon (Jacksonville, FL). Roy will truly be missed.
Celebration of Life service for Roy C. Williams will be 11:00AM Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at The Soutel Chapel. Visitation Tuesday from 5 – 7:00 PM at The Soutel Chapel.
