Rodney William Scott

Scott ~ Rodney William Scott was born March 30, 1963, in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Deacon George William Scott and Lucy Mae Scott.  He attended the local public schools graduating from Andrew Jackson High School, Class of 1982.

Rodney accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at The First Baptist Church of Oakland under the leadership of the late Dr. Charles B. Dailey.  He loved God and he loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Deacon George W. Scott and Lucy M. Scott; brother, Terry C. Davis; and sister, Lutricia A. Hill.

On Monday, May 30, 2022, God freed him from all his pain by giving him eternal rest.  Rodney leaves to cherish his memory, siblings, Georgia Smith, Atlanta, GA, Ricky Scott (Nettie), Pottstown, PA, Deacon Ronald Scott (Cheryl), Sharon Scott; aunt, Emma Lee Troupe (Rev. Robert), Fort Myers, FL; nephews, Lorenzo Stripling (Traci), Justin Hill, Ronald James (Jamil),  George Scott II (Jaymieka), Alvontay Samuels, Christopher Hill (Mary); nieces, Vanessa Pitts (Michael), Jeryl Franklin (ToRico), Zandra Hill, Devon Harper,  Sharicka Scott; great nephews, Edwin Moody, Raphael and Rayveon Thompson, George Scott III, Gerrod Scott, Marquis James, Ronald James III, Christopher Hill II; great nieces,  Kayla Jackson,  Syonce Harper, Ebony Hill, Germia Scott, Camiyah James, Raniyah James, Cameron James, Elizabeth Hill; a host of cousins and many loving friends.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Rodney William Scott, 11 AM Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Oakland, 1025 Jessie Street, Pastor Christopher McKee, Jr.   Visitation Tuesday from 5 – 6 PM at The Soutel Chapel.  Because of the love of his family, arrangements entrusted to J.
