Robert "Bob" Edwards

Edwards~ Mr. Robert Edwards, Jr. was born April 7, 1955, in Folkston, Georgia, to the late Dorothy Williams Edwards and Robert Edwards, Sr.  He was affectionately known as “Bob or Coolie”.

Robert received his education from the public schools of Folkston, Georgia.  He was employed at Goldkist for many years.  Robert, also taking after his late father, had a passion for planting and gardening; he planted trees for years until his health declined.

On Thursday, November 14, 2019, we paused to say until we meet again to Robert at Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida, after an extended illness.

Loved ones who preceded him in death include his wife, Virginia Jeannette Edwards; son, Wendell C. Chambers; parents, Robert Edwards, Sr. & Dorothy Williams-Edwards; brothers, Ronald Q. Edwards, Arthur Lee Edwards; sisters, Ophia Edwards and Dorothy Edwards.  Those left to cherish his memory include stepdaughter, Keisha (David, Sr.) Jones, Hilliard, Florida; grandchildren, Keshawn & Keauna Jones, Hilliard, Florida, David Jones, Jr., Minnesota; seven great grandchildren; stepmother, Julia Mae Edwards, Folkston, Georgia; siblings, Donald (Rose) Williams, Sr., Folkston, Georgia, Jacqueline Williams, Brunswick, Georgia, Norma Jean (Rock) Sims, Columbia, South Carolina, Ervin (Opal) Edwards, Calvin D. Edwards, Alvin L.  Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Robert Edwards will be Saturday, November 30, 2019, 2:00 PM at Jerusalem Holiness Church, 453 Mt. Carmel Street in Folkston Georgia, Pastor Terrance Pender.  Family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.  Interment at Mt.
