Brown ~ Robert James Brown was born April 9, 1941, to the late Mrs. Geraldine Smiley and Otis Pitts, Sr. in Camilla, Georgia. He was a resident of Miami, Florida from 1964 – 2007.
Robert was a truck driver and after retiring, he moved to Jacksonville, Florida. He is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor M. Brown; daughters, Sarah Haywood and Carolyn Jones of Miami, Florida; siblings, Deanna Marcus of Albany, Georgia, Rosemary Mom’s (Fred), Sandra Powell of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers-in-law, Robert Bolden (Janet), Willie Nelson (Mary); sisters-in-law, Cynthia Derry (Arthur), Mildred Powell, Evelyn Valdez, Katie Lee Field; extended family, The Pitts of Miami, Florida; best friends, Willie Roberson of Jacksonville, Florida and Barber Roberson of Miami, Florida; a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside Service for Robert James Brown will be 12:00 PM Wednesday, March 23, 2022, Restlawn Memorial Park, 2600 Ribault Scenic Drive. Visitation Tuesday from 5 – 7 PM at The Soutel Chapel.
