Robert E. Barrington, Jr.

Barrington ~ Mr. Robert Earl Barrington, Jr. affectionately known as “Earl” was born in Jacksonville, Florida February 1, 1968, to Henrietta C. Barrington and the late Robert Earl Barrington, Sr.  He attended the local schools of Duval County.  Earl was a welder by trade and did numerous construction jobs.  He knew his way around an automobile being the family mechanic and having a passion for music and being hands on.

Earl was a very caring and loving person who would give you the shirt off his back.  If you were ever around him you were always leaving with something, whether it was food, electronics and a really good laugh.  No matter where he traveled his “Great Spirit” and sense of humor always followed.  He never held a grudge and always avoided conflict; he was the peacemaker.

Earl was known as the family joker and handyman and could repair anything from a car to a hurting heart - you can choose to remember him as no longer being with us, or you can choose to cherish his memory and let it live on.  He is still here in spirit telling jokes and being the family clown.  Before him leaving this earth, he was the main caregiver for his elderly mother, making sure she was well taken care of and providing for her everyday needs.

Earl was preceded in death by his father, Robert Earl Barrington Sr.; brothers, Bruce Anthony Clark and Timothy T. Jackson.   He leaves a loving devoted family to cherish his memories,  wife, Catina; children, Chantiqua, Charnelle, Tarolyn, Robert III, Kayla, Antoinette; grandchildren, Danzel Jr., LaMorris Jr., Yamiya Dae’Meer, Bryson, Terrance, Tyrese, Madisyn, Serenity; mother, Henrietta; brothers, Ronald and Arthur (Veronica); sisters, Sharon, LaSandra (Calvin), Zelda (Darrell), Renee (Derrick); god sister, Tanya; childhood best friends, Travis, Larry, Clarence, Roy; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Celebration of Life service for Robert Earl Barrington, Jr. will be 11:00AM Friday, May 26, 2023 at Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 1620 Helena Street.  Visitation Thursday from 5 – 7:00 PM at The Soutel Chapel.  Interment in Restlawn Memorial Park.  Because of the love of his family, arrangements entrusted to J.
