Blasingame ~ Phyllis Jean Blasingame was born September 9, 1944, in Gary, Indianna to T C and Fannie (Davis) McDonald. She departed this life Thursday, December 28, 2023.
Phyllis graduated from Roosevelt High School in Gary Indianna, in 1962 and received an Associate Degree in General Studies from Indiana University Northwest. She gave National Steel Corporation – Midwest Steel Division thirty-five years of employment and continued to work at US Steel for an additional twelve years. Phyllis was a loyal and dedicated worker who retired in 2015.
She was an avid bowler, who was very much involved in the bowling community. Phyllis enjoyed listening to music and would challenge anybody to a game of Bid Whist. She received the Lord and was baptized at an early age at Van Buren Baptist Church. She recommitted her life to the Lord at a later age at Embassy of Christ where she served on the hospitality and greeting ministry.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Valisa Drake of Jacksonville, Florida; granddaughter, Vianca Jolly of Jacksonville, Florida; brother, Michael (Evelyn) Davis of Davie, Florida; aunt, Jane Austin, of Sun Lakes, Arizona; special adopted granddaughter, Ashley Jankowski; a host of relatives and friends.
Memorial service for Mrs. Phyllis Jean Blasingame will be 2:00PM Saturday, January 6, 2023 at The Soutel Chapel. Because of the love of her family, arrangements entrusted to J. E. Fralin & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services, 5065 Soutel Drive, 904-924-9400
