Otis Winn

Winn ~ Mr. Otis Winn, 88, departed his life June 3, 2024, at U F Health Jacksonville.  He was born April 6, 1936, to the late Lincoln and Genay Hendley Winn in Bulloch County, Georgia.

Looking for a better life, Otis left Georgia and moved to Altamonte Springs, Florida in 1958 where he worked as a cook for several years with Morrison Cafeteria.  He later moved to Detroit, Michigan in the 1960’s and was employed with Ford Motor Company.  After several years, Otis moved back to Florida and worked for Parts Garage for many years.  He was an awesome mechanic and enjoyed his craft.  Otis loved his family, good conversation and a good cigar.

In addition to his parents, Otis was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Winn; daughters, Tanglyn Winn Haywood, Tracy Winn Telfair; granddaughter, Michelle McCoy; sister, Ronella Winn Jones.  He leaves to cherish his memory, devoted and loving wife of forty-nine years, Harriet Winn; stepsons, Kirk White, Harvey Graham; daughters, Janice Brooks (Mario), Helen Mitchell; eight grandchildren including Melissa McCoy; special niece, India Tolbert; a host of nephews, nieces, other family and friends.

Celebration of Life service for Otis Winn will be 11:00AM Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Words of Truth Worship Center, 3012 West 12th Street.  Visitation Tuesday from 5 – 7:00 PM at The Soutel Chapel.  Interment in Restlawn Memorial Park South.
