Parker ~ Olivia Pat Forest was born August 4, 1931, in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Jerome and Olivia Forest. She attended Stanton High School and was a member of Bethel Baptist Institutional Church.
In June of 1951, at the tender age of twenty, Olivia married the love of her life, David E. Parker. David served in the U S Army for twenty-two years, that took Olivia to Fort Campbell, Fort Bragg, Fort Jackson, Fort Benning and to Germany; where there two children, David & Dena were born.
After David’s death in 1974, Olivia started a career in retail at May Cohen’s where she made many friends! She was herself a fashion statement in her own right. Olivia enjoyed sewing, and believe it or not, one year for Christmas bought herself an Xbox. She also did word search & crossword books to keep her mind active. Olivia was also a Foster Parent for a number of children in that season of her life.
She leaves to cherish her memory, son, David Parker; daughter, Dena Parker; she also raised her grandson, Patrick; a host of grandchildren; brothers, Bruce & Kim Forest; sister, Michelle Harris; nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of extended family and friends.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Olivia P. Parker, 11 AM Friday, December 8, 2023, at The Soutel Chapel. Visitation Thursday from 5 – 7 PM at The Soutel Chapel. Because of the love of her family, arrangements entrusted to J. E. Fralin & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services, 5065 Soutel Dr, 904.924.9400.
