Rhodes ~ Oliver Rudolph Rhodes was born November 26,1957, in Jacksonville, Florida to Leroy and Sadie Rhodes, both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald W. and Leroy S. Rhodes.
Oliver was educated in the public school system of Duval County and graduated from Ribault Senior High School; after graduation he joined the United States Marine Corp. Oliver was employed by Wing Group Mustang Survival Company. He gave his life to Christ and loved the Lord. Oliver rededicated his life to the Lord in 2013 and served faithfully as an usher at First New Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
He was married to Mrs. Otis Green and this union was blessed with one daughter, Chawan. He was helpful and loving to anyone he met. Oliver loved to tell jokes and make people laugh.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted daughter, Chawan (Emanuel Sr.); grandchildren, Lavorne Curry, Otis Rhodes, Emanuel Jr, Davian, Kayla Laster; brother, Nathan Rhodes (Tamara); sisters, Terry Roundtree, Valerie Daise; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Celebration of Life service for Oliver Rudolph Rhodes will be 11:00AM Thursday, July 11, 2024, at First New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 4835 Soutel Drive. Visitation Wednesday from 5 – 7:00 PM at The Soutel Chapel. Interment in Restlawn Memorial Park. Because of the love of his family, arrangements entrusted to J. E.
