Nona Lanoux Braud

Braud ~ Nona Lanoux Braud was born on June 9, 1948, in Quitman, Georgia to the parents Herbye and Winona Lanoux. At a young age, she moved to Dinsmore where she lived with her parents and brother, Herbie Lanoux.

Nona graduated from Paxon High School in 1966, and later on continued her education at Jones College where she earned an associate’s in science degree in Office Management; she later earned a bachelor's degree in business management.

Nona is survived by her children, Shoanna Turner (Billy), Donna Akins (Sam), Sadie Thompson, Roy Thompson Jr. (Crystal), Joni Teart (Ardis), Jason Thompson (Joy); grandchildren, Chris, Brandon, Jordyn, LaShonda, Ronald, Tyler, Anthony, Rayshad, Mackenzie, Ashley; great grandchildren, Malaki, Loyalty, Ronald Jr; brother, Herbie Lanoux and his partner Robert Ross; nephews, Daniel, David; and a host of friends. Nona will surely be missed.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Mrs. Nona Lanoux Braud, 5PM Thursday, July 16, 2026, at The Soutel Chapel.  Because of the love of her family, arrangements entrusted to J. E. Fralin & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services, 5065 Soutel Dr, 904.924.9400.
