Monya Bynum Obituary

BYNUM ~ Monya Denise Bynum was born August 23,1965 in Florence, South Carolina to Leroy Wilson and Louella Woods Wilson.  Before she reached her first birthday, her family located to Bridgeport, Connecticut.  She graduated Bullard Haven Technical School in 1983 where she participated in a variety of activities.

In 1984, Monya joined the United States Navy and relocated to Jacksonville, Florida where she specialized in helicopter maintenance.  After leaving the Navy, she started to work for an Optometrist as an entry tech and later becoming the store manager; having managed over four stores.  Even between working long hours and taking care of her family, Monya received two degrees in business management.  She was a member of The Bethel Church of Jacksonville, Florida.  While being a faithful member, she was highly active in the Angel Tree Ministry that helped children celebrate holidays during difficult times. She always found time to help people in need.

Monya leaves behind a legacy of generosity and love for everyone she met.  Left to mourn her memory, husband, Calvin Bynum; daughter, Jaleesa Marie Bynum; sons, Terrence Michael Bynum and Joshua Christian Bynum; mother, Louella Wilson; sister, Melissa Manns; brother, Marlon Wilson; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends
