Monica Monique Kinard

Kinard ~ Monica Monique Kinard, daughter of William Henry Kinard, Sr. and the late Ruth Mae Kinard, was born October 13,1975 in Fernandina Beach, Florida.  She was educated in Nassau County School System; graduated from Hillard Middle-Senior High School, class of 1994.

Shortly after graduating from high school, Monica was ready to start making her own income - her very first job was working at Hardee’s restaurant in Callahan, Florida.  She also worked several other jobs after leaving Hardee’s.  Monica’s favorite job was the US FAA-Jacksonville Air Route Traffic Control Center at 37075 Aviation Lane in Hilliard, Florida.  While working there, Monica encountered a sickness that caused her to not be able to work there any longer.  She loved that job because she was making the money that she always wanted to make. Many years later, Monica decided to move to Jacksonville, Florida where she enjoyed going places and doing things with her cousins, Essie McClendon and Teresa Williams.  Later, Monica was employed at UF Health of Jacksonville where she was a loyal and dedicated employee; she took great pride in her work - a job well done.  She was loved by many coworkers, but Mrs. Minnie Carter was a special coworker/friend that Monica loved dearly.

Growing up in a loving family in which the Lord was reverenced and worshipped, Monica accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very early age at St. John Baptist Church in Bamberg, South Carolina (where she lived for a short while with her grandmother, the late Essie Mae Kinard Dickson).  After moving to Jacksonville, she joined Dayspring Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Jeffrey K. Rumlin, Pastor.  Monica loved her pastor, years ago when she was sick, he would go pray with her at the hospital - she would say how that meant so much to her because she was a strong believer that prayer does work.  

Monica had a heart of gold.  We call her our Queen; her smile would light up a room when she walked in.  She was full of life, laughter, and lots of fun. Monica truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of being a part of her life.

Monica was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Mae Kinard; aunt, Hattie Lee Sanders.  On September 22, 2021, Monica transitioned from this earthly life.  Loving memories will forever be cherished by her children, Shania Samuel, Kenneth Samuel; father, Henry Kinard (Louvenia Holzendorf); brothers, William Henry Kinard Jr. (Annie), Richard Edwards, Michael Holzendorf, Alvin Holzendorf, Wilbur Edwards (Robin); sisters, Jennifer Kinard, Yvette Kinard, Linda Hopkins (James), Carolyn Grant; uncles, Orrie Kinard, George Kinard (Dorothy); aunt, Myrtes Barnwell; nephews, Keontae Canady, Jermone Kinard, Jaron Kinard; nieces, Keyonna Canady, Kimara Canady, Moeisha Hamilton, Rashay Hamilton, Shametta Kinard; a host of other nephews, nieces, family and friends.

Graveside Service for Mrs. Monica Kinard will be 10:00 AM Saturday, October 2, 2021, Mt. Charity Cemetery, 552042 U S Highway 1, Hilliard, Florida.  Visitation Friday from 5 – 7 PM at The Soutel Chapel.  Because of the love of her family, arrangements entrusted to J. E.
