James ~ Mark was born in Jacksonville Florida December 3, 1956, to Vernell and Charles James who preceded him in death. He attended the local schools, graduating from Jean Ribault class of 1975.
Mark was a loving and faithful husband to Paula James, who will miss him greatly. He was a dedicated father to Mark Jr. and David. Mark was very proud of the years he spent mentoring his sons and other youth in the Boy Scouts of America. His Bonus daughters, Latrece Roberts and Kimberly Lowry (Arqueous) loved and respected him because of his beautiful spirit. He also has a bonus son, Roderick White whom he loved dearly. Mark was also a beloved grandfather and great grandfather; he was so proud of all his grands. He had a very close and loving relationship with his brothers, Grant James and Ricky James (Ann).
Mark retired from Jacksonville Transportation Management after many years of dedicated service. Not only was he a mechanic with that organization, but he also did incredible work with their union. Another professional affiliation, he was on the board of the NAACP for several years. Mark was a faithful member of the Greater Macedonia Baptist Church, under the leadership of Senior Pastor Brian Campbell. He was also a part of the Men of Purpose at the church. He really loved the Lord and always spoke about living a good and faithful life so that he could receive his reward at the end of this journey called life.
Mark enjoyed his family so much; he loved doing things with his wife. He loved fishing but it meant so much more when his brothers were here to go fishing with him. Mark loved flying his drone and was well known for creating and putting things together.
To say that he will be greatly missed by his wife, family and friends is an understatement but most of us do know that Mark lived in a way that showed he was preparing for his rewards in heaven.
