Margaret L. Hampton

HAMPTON~ Mrs. Margaret L. Hampton, a native of Bibb County, Georgia, was born October 13, 1927.   Her early years were spent in Aniston, Alabama and Washington, DC.  Margaret received her education in the Washington, DC area and worked as a nurse in area hospitals and private care.

As a young woman, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and spent the remainder of her life working to fulfill the call He had placed on her.  She held positions in the church where she taught both children and adult bible classes, worked as a missionary, choir director and musician.  Her greatest passion was helping single mothers and foster children. 

She was a gifted songstress and a lifelong teacher.  However, understanding the tremendous call God had on her life, she returned to school, and received her Doctorate in Theology in 2004. 

A devout member of Greater Harvest Christian Fellowship, she not only supported her church family, but was known for her love of God’s word and the music ministry.  She was always willing to minister in word or song whenever able.

Margaret leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted daughter, Natalie Huff (Frank), sons, William H. White (Andria) of Virginia & Paul S. White (Valerie) of Maryland; a devoted goddaughter, Ruth Keaton (Aubrey) of Savannah, Georgia; godson, Lindsey Willis (Emma); a host of extended church family members and friends.

Celebration of Life Service for Margaret L. Hampton will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 13, 2021 at The Soutel Chapel, 5065 Soutel Drive, Pastor J. A.
