Owens ~ Leroy Owens, Jr. was born in Folkston, Georgia, December 24, 1950, to the late Doris Cutler-Owens and the late Leroy Owens, Sr. He served his country honorably in the U S Army and received many certificates, badges and medals. Leroy enjoyed laying tile as a brick mason and enjoyed spending time with his children and family.
Leroy was preceded in death by his son, Leroy Owens III; granddaughter, Sydney Owens; sisters, Vivian Lucas, Earnestine Bailey, Julia Ann McGowen; brother-in-law, Jerome Smith. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Owens; children, Edwin Mack, Chris Robinson, Ben & Derrick Owens, Lisa Rauls (Brian), Ashley Oliver, Kimyetta Jackson, Dion, Carrie & Dennis (Daneisha) Alderman; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Jerry Owens (Louise); sisters, Vanessa Smith, Perrie Owens; uncles, Robert & Lorenzo Cutler; aunt, Lucille Taylor; special nieces, Telisa & Aniya Williams; special friends, Joyce Anderson-Johnson, Virginia Alderman, Lanarva Owens-Morris; a host of loving family and sorrowing friends.
Celebration of Life service for Leroy Owens, Jr. will be 11:00AM Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor A. L. Jordan, Sr. Visitation Tuesday from 5 – 6:00 PM at The Soutel Chapel. Interment at Jacksonville National Cemetery. Because of the love of his family, arrangements entrusted to J. E.
