BELL ~ Lee Ernest Bell was born May 4, 1943 in Dawson, Georgia to Lonnie & Rosa Bell. He attended Old Stanton High School. Lee located to New York and returned to Jacksonville in 1982.
He was a member of Philippian Community Church, under the leadership of Pastor L. C. Callahan, Pastor Virgil Jones, Sr., and Pastor Virgil Jones, Jr. Lee became disabled during a traffic accident while living in New York and was later involved in an accident in Jacksonville, Florida.
He was a comedian at heart, a jokester – he enjoyed keeping people laughing. Ernest was loved by many and will be truly missed.
Ernest was preceded in death by parents, Lonnie & Rosa Bell; brother, Rudolph Bell; sister, Francina Bell. He is survived by daughter, Marco (Robert) Barton; grandchild, Annie Grant; great grandchild, Christian Grant; brother, Dewitt Bell; sisters, Enna Jean Caine & Cynthia (Alphonso) Clark; nephews, Wilbert (Landra) Bell, Lavelle & Darrell Caine, Russell Roberts III; nieces, Cheryl Caine, Keisha Bell, Chanel Goggins, Ashley Bell; great nephews, Ta’ib, Rah’shid, & Raheim Roberts, Darnell Goggins, Jr.; great nieces, Jordan McCloud, Zola Williams; god daughter, Tanji Williams; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration Service for Lee Ernest Bell will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Edgewood Cemetery. Visitation MONDAY from 5 – 7 PM at The Soutel Chapel. Because of the love of his family, arrangements entrusted to J. E. Fralin & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services, 5065 Soutel Dr, 904.924.9400.
