Larry Branch Obituary

Branch ~ Larry Lee Branch, a.k.a. Honey, Dad, Pops, G-Daddy, Mr. Larry was born in Baltimore, Maryland, June 26, 1945, to the late Valious and Hattie Branch.  He peacefully transitioned into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the early morning of November 21, 2023.  Larry was surrounded by his wife and caretaker.

He was raised by the late Edward Kent and Mary Lee Kent along with his foster brothers.  Larry attended public schools in Baltimore and graduated from Edmondson Senior High School.  During the 1980’s, Larry was employed for seven years as a personal banker at Philadelphia Saving Fund Society (PSFS); where he started dressing in his suits as he was so proud of his job.  He moved to Altamonte Springs, Florida in 1992, where he was the owner/operator of Executive Janitorial and Cleaning Service for twelve years.  Larry moved his family to Jacksonville, Florida in December 2007.  He worked for thirteen years as a truck driver at Jacksonville Naval Air Station until his health no longer allowed him to work.  Larry was a Vietnam veteran, he enjoyed talking about delivering parts for the naval planes and going on the flight line.  He did not meet any strangers; he had a kind word for anyone if needed, to include a word of encouragement.  Larry obtained his Certificate of Elder from 910 Church of God, Orlando, Florida.  He also sang with the “Gospel Messengers” under the direction of Twain Nelson.  Larry was a member of The Bethel Church where he obtained his Certificate of Ordination as Deacon, Certified Ministry Leadership and Instep Certified Teacher.  He was a faithful usher and deacon; he served until his health no longer allowed him to serve.

Larry was an awesome husband, father, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend to all who met him.  He took delight in his suits, hats and shoes.  Larry loved seating the saints for worship service and passing the communion sacraments.  He will continue to be admired for his tactfulness, amazing smile, his walk and his one-of-a-kind personality.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nycole Sherree Branch; brothers, Hezekiah & Nezekiah “Melvin” Branch, Floyd Branch, Connor Branch; sister, Alice Reaves; foster brothers, Charles Kent, Turner Rhodes, Barry Lee Brooks; aunts, Elise Kent of Sun City, Florida, Mamie Bythewood; mother-in-law, Altamease Smith; brothers-in-law, James Smith III, Anthony Craig Smith; sister-in-law, Jackie Thomas (Larry), Betty Moore, Diana Smith; special nephew, Charles Burgess.  His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Kelly of twenty-nine years; son, Timothy White; granddaughter, Ty’Leigh Nycole White; sister, Gloria Kight (Israel); foster brother, Ailor J.
