Keith Lewis Obituary

Lewis Keith Gene Lewis was born May 7, 1960 in Jacksonville, Florida, to the proud parents, Willie and Jean Lewis.  He was a graduate of Jean Ribault High School, Class of 1979.  Keith continued his education at Edward Waters College.

Later in his adult life he was united in marriage to Gail Asbey on May 7, 1988.  Keith accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior early in life and was baptized at Bethel Baptist Institutional Church and remained an active devoted member over 50 years, until his demise.

He was a faithful Deacon, Usher, participated in Covenant Keepers (Married Couples Ministry), Children and Youth Ministries, Youth Sports, Best Academy-Robotics, Girl Scouts, Choir, as well as many other areas in the life of the church.  Keith loved serving the Bethel Church Family, and shared a special love for Bishop McKissick, Jr., Pastor Kim, Bishop McKissick, Sr., and Mother Estelle McKissick.  He worked at Florida Blue over twenty years and was currently employed with the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront.

Keith was passionately committed and served many community organizations within his community.  He volunteered as a Poll Worker for Duval County Supervisor of Elections and strived to build confidence within the community to embrace the integrity of the election process.   His love for family life showed with the affectionate interaction he shared with them.  Keith was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and known throughout the community as “Uncle Keith” to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Jean Lewis; brothers, Dr. G.
