Katherine Ross Obituary

Ross ~ Katherine Ross was born March 11, 1930, to Malachi and Willie Mae Height in McRae, Georgia. She attended the local schools in Georgia.

Katherine moved to Jacksonville many years ago with her husband and children. Being the eighth child of twelve children, she loved having a lot of people around; even her children’s friends called her mama.  Katherine joined Mr. Moriah Baptist Church and served there until she moved to the northside of Jacksonville.  After moving, Katherine studied with Jehovah’s witness for some time until her health began to weaken.

She, along with her niece, Clara opened a restaurant on Kings Road, Mom’s Kitchen, where they served the best food in town.

Katherine was preceded in death by her children, Carey Hollomon, Brenda Lewis, Susan Ross.  She leaves to cherish her memories, children, Earnest Ross, Yvonne Harris, Melvin Davis, Charles Ross Jr.; a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren including Chona Adams; niece, Clara Nelson; a host of relatives and friends. She will truly be missed.
