John H. Mccloud

Mccloud ~ John Harris McCloud, 77, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2025, at the Douglas Center.  He was born to the union of Jack and Leticia Dennis McCloud in 1947.  John was educated in the public schools of Duval County, graduating from New Stanton High School. 

He was employed at the shipyard as a fabricator for many years.  After leaving his daily job he enjoyed a good night’s rest – do not disturb John when he arrived home from work as his mind was solely on sleeping.  He later enjoyed sitting on his porch conversing with his friends; however, he didn’t appreciate people sitting on his porch.  Two of his favorite quotes were “You ever seen a real man before – you are looking at one” and “that is your son, but this is my daughter”. He loved watching westerns and movies and Perry Mason on television.

John was a loving person who leaves to cherish his memory, sons, John Harris McCloud Jr, Kenneth McCloud; daughter, Elder Iris McCloud; grandchildren, Rickey Astin II, Kalisha Graddick, Carlos Graddick; great grandchildren, Rickey III, Dante, Nyla, Makaila, Carlos Jr, Carter, Kaylena; brother, Ernest Truman (Sandrener) McCloud; a host of other relatives and friends.  John will truly be missed.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of John Harris McCloud, 11 AM Thursday, February 20, 2025, at The Soutel Chapel.   Visitation Wednesday from 5 – 7 PM at The Soutel Chapel.  Because of the love of his family, arrangements entrusted to J.
