HAMPTON ~
John Hampton III was born April 13, 1949 to Mrs. Edna Lee Wilcox Hampton and Mr. John Hampton, Jr., in Chiefland, Florida. He was educated in the Duval County Public School System and attended Edward Waters College. John later joined the United States Air Force where he served his country honorably.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Hampton; parents, John Hampton, Jr. & Edna Lee Wilcox Hampton; and his sister, Sheila Hampton.
John was always the life of the party and demanded attention from all around him. He was the smallest person in the room, yet the largest person in the room, all at the same time. John enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, siblings and entire family. He was a hard-core New England Patriots and Gator fan. John will be sorely missed by all who loved him.
John leaves to mourn, 7 children, John Hampton IV, LaTresa Hampton, Jeneen Hampton, Derrick McKenzy, Katissa McKenzy, Terrance Hampton and Shayla Hampton; 13 grandchildren, Sha’Carra Brown, Reginald Durant, Dorian Bush, Jaida Sanders, Angel Hampton, Derrick McKenzy III, Sirius McKenzy, Divine Byers, Nakiya Byers, Charles Ervin, Shaniya Hampton, Jeremiah Hampton and Jaylen Hampton; 14 siblings, Louvenia Green, Mae Scott, Claudia Robinson, Eunice Hampton, Curtis Hampton, Allen Hampton, Joyce Bradley, Andrew Hampton, Randy Hampton, Patricia Hampton, David Hampton (Charvette), Loretta Bell (Aron), Virginia Hampton, and Fred Hampton; a huge host of sorrowing relatives and friends. Honorable mention to his dear friends, Mae Frances and Josh.
