KING-WHITE ~ JoAnn Ruth King was born September 16, 1946, to the union of Mr. Otis and Mary Green King in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended local public schools of Duval County. JoAnn was very active in extracurricular activities. She furthered her schooling by attending the College of Cosmetology.
JoAnn accepted Christ at an early age. She later joined St. Paul Baptist Church in 1970 under the leadership of Dr. E. E. Taylor, where she served on many auxiliaries (Senior Ministry, Usher Board No. 2, M. B. Choir, E. E. Taylor Choir and President of District Eleven). JoAnn continued to be a faithful member under Bishop John E. Guns. Her favorite songs were “Let Your Light Shine” and “I Am Just Holding On”; her favorite scripture was Psalm 84:10.
She departed this life Saturday, August 1, 2020. JoAnn was preceded in death by her son, John Henry White III; parents, Mr. Otis and Mary Green King; sister, Mrs. Barbara Jean King-White. She leaves to cherish her memory, grandson, John Henry White IV; sisters, Sarah King-Solomon & Margie King-Raysor; nephews, James Blount Jr., Archie Solomon, Jr., Gerald Solomon, Sr. (Nikki), Donald King, Joseph White, Jr.; devoted nephew/son, Bill Kelly; nieces, Angela Russ, Veronica Solomon-Brown (Lawrence), Sheryl Solomon, Joleta White; aunt, Thomasina Williams (Robert); a host of great nephews, great-nieces, many cousins and a dear devoted friend, Mrs. Lizzie Mobley.
Celebration of Life Service for JoAnn King-White will be 10:oo AM Saturday, August 8, 2020, St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 3738 Winton Drive, Bishop John E. Guns, Pastor.
