Jerome Kierce

KIERCE ~ Jerome “Corkey” Kierce, 69, the eighth of eleven children born to the late Mr. Jasper F. J. Kierce, Sr. and Jane Miller King Kierce July 15, 1951.  Jerome was a Christian, baptized at an early age and attended Deland Missionary Baptist Church on Jammes Road, Jacksonville, Florida.  He was educated in Duval County Public Schools.  Jerome worked as a concrete helper on many jobs.  He also enjoyed lawn service, raking and keeping yards beautiful in the 7234 block of John Road on the Westside of Jacksonville, known as “Sweetwater”, a very close knit community. 

Jerome was predeceased by his brother, Herman S. Kierce; sisters, Doris B. Kierce and Mary Kierce Mills.  Leaving to cherish Jerome’s memory are his brothers, Jasper F. J. Kierce, Jr., David M. (Mary W.) Kierce (also his loving caregivers), Herbert L. (Kimberly) Kierce of Atlanta, Georgia, Anthony Nimrod Kierce, Glenn A (Tammy) Kierce; sisters, Arlene Kierce Kohn, Louise Kierce Moore; several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, including devoted niece, Angela Davis.  Jerome never met a stranger and always had a story to tell.  He will be greatly missed.

Graveside Service for Jerome Kierce will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Borden Cemetery, Pastor Erich Jackson.  Because of the love of his family, arrangement entrusted to J. E. Fralin & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services 904.924.9400
