James William West

West ~ Mr. James West was born July 18, 1947, to Robert and Ruthie B. West, Sr. in Blackshear, Georgia.   He attended & graduated from Lee Street High School, Blackshear, Georgia.  James was employed by Ferguson Plumbing in Jacksonville, Florida as truck driver for over twenty years.   He was married to Mae West (who preceded in him in death); they were married for over twenty years.  

James was preceded in death by his son, Bernarldo West; father, Robert West, Sr; mother, Ruthie B West; brother, Robert West, Jr; sister, Jeanette Rolle.  He is survived by son, Aubrey West; daughter, Shayla Perry West; stepchildren, Tammy McGauley & Wanda Howard, Freddie & Raymond Ward, Tyrone Gilyard; ten grandchildren, thirteen step-grandchildren; god-daughter, Missy Perry; brothers, Jerry (Doris) West, Johnnie (Delores) West, Felton (Marcia) West; sister, Rosa Lee Simpkins; brother in law, Thomas Rolle; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, classmates, and friends. 

Celebration of Life service for James West will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Shiloh Cemetery, Blackshear, Georgia.  Visitation Friday from 5 – 7:00 PM at The Soutel Chapel.  Because of the love of his family, arrangements entrusted to J.
