Jacquelyn E. Lowry

Lowry ~ Jacquelyn “Bay” Estelle Varnadore Lowry was born April 28,1955 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Squire and Mattie Lou Varnadore.  Her friends often called her Jackie. She attended Duval County public schools and was a graduate of Stanton High School class of 1973.

Jacquelyn married Henry Louis Lowry, Sr. on November 27, 1974.  She completed dental assistant school in 1979 and was employed as such for thirty-eight years until her retirement in 2017.  Mrs. Lowry was a long-time member of New United Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church now under the leadership of Reverend Doctor Tony Neal III. She taught her family to trust in the Lord and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Lowry was called home to be with her Lord May 12,2023.  She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dudley Neal, Otis Wright, Charlie Wright and Theo Varnadore. Mrs. Lowry leaves to cherish her memory, husband of 48 years, Henry Lowry Sr.; sons, Arqueous Lowry Sr. (Kim) and Joshua Lowry Sr.; stepchildren, Henry Lowry Jr (Keenan), Tiffney Lowry (Fred), Jermaine Lowry (Shan); grandchildren, Arqueous Jr. “AJ”, Seyvon, Kayla, Jarqueous “Jay”, Yazmiyn, Londyn, Joshua Micah, LaShanna, Jolicia Jacquelyn, Joshianna, Joshua Jr., King Joshua; great grands, Alayah and Nevaeh Lowry, Arqueous Lowry III; 8 step grands and 14 step great grands; siblings, Mattie “Babysister” Jackson, Squire “Pop” Varnadore (Margaret), Gloria “Flammie” Varnadore, Geartha “Bigman” Varnadore (Peggy); in-laws, Carolyn “Dune” Wright, Mildred Butts, Liz Doss (Willie) both of Uniondale, New York,  Lawrence Lowry (Yvonne), Anita Lowry of Compton, California, Robin Lowry;  best friend Emma West; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many sorrowing friends.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Jacquelyn “Bay” Estelle Varnadore Lowry, 11 AM Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Cathedral of Deliverance, 1939 Belvedere Street.   Visitation Friday from 5 – 7 PM at The Soutel Chapel.  Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.  Because of the love of her family, arrangements entrusted to J.
