THORNES ~ Jacquelin “Jackie” Marie Thornes was born August 4 1965 in Jacksonville, Florida to Pearl D. Rolle of The Bahamas and Jerry Allen of Sopchoppy, Florida. Jackie was compassionate, vivacious, a selfless giver, that was always there when needed. She transitioned from her earthly life and gained her heavenly wings July 14th, 2021.
Jackie received her early education from Duval County Public Schools and later graduated from Jean Ribault High School Class of 1983. With her sense of “Trojan Pride” she went on to further her education for 3 years at the well-known Florida A&M University. Considering her caring and nurturing personality, she saw fit to come home and aid in the caring of others after the passing of her father, the late Jerry Allen. Extending her scope of interests within the healthcare industry she attended several trade schools and earned her license/ certificates including Heritage Institute. From that time forward, Jackie dedicated the rest of her life and career to caring for others, where she served in a variety of healthcare positions.
She was formerly married to Warren D. Thornes were within that union they were blessed with three beautiful children, creating her greatest legacy becoming a devoted mother.
Jackie is predeceased by her father, Jerry Allen and brother Phillip Jerry Allen. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted family, children, Brionna S. Thornes, Ariona C. Thornes and Doron Thornes; Mother, Pearl D. Allen; Sisters, Valeria Jenkins and Latrese N. Allen; Brothers; Ellis “June-Bug” Dickerson (Garian) and Vincent Allen (Glinda); uncles; aunts, other relatives and friends including Godmother Dora M. Stewart (Robert); Godbrother’s and sisters, Micheal Hadley, Bernard Hadley, Tongi Harrison, Mietta Fort
She accepted Christ at Philippian Community Church in 1986. Continuing her committed and faithful servitude she was later ordained as a Psalmist and Elder of Peaceful Kingdom Healing and Refuge Inc. Because of her love for music and song that always kept her going, God saw fit to grace her with a permanent role of leaving songs in others hearts; a gift also passed down to her children.
Those who knew her would say she has beautiful soul & big heart accompanied by a contagious smile and laughter, with an abundant love for her family and friends. She made a personal relationship with anyone she encountered, which over time developed into being referred to as “Mama Jackie or “Aunt Jackie”. Her welcoming and loving spirit rendered her have an open-door policy to all thus leaving an everlasting imprint that is deemed unforgettable.
