Cogdell ~ Jackie Cogdell was born July 9, 1951 to Stiney and Carrie Bell Cogdell in Tifton, Georgia. He attended Eugene J. Butler High School in Jacksonville, Florida.
Jackie attended Friendship Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Bobbie Sheffield. He was a truck driver for many years. Jackie enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, being a “shade tree mechanic” and was a devoted Miami Dolphins fan.
On August 1, 2022, God called Jackie to eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his son, Aaron Deon Cogdell, Sr.; parents, Mr. & Mrs. Stiney Cogdell; brothers, Stiney Cogdell, Jr., Willie Cogdell; sisters, Joyce Sand Cogdell, Louise Brooklyn, Ola Mae Everson, Mattie Dunbar, Irene Edwards. Jackie leaves to cherish his memory, children, Jackie Cogdell, Jr., Bruce Henry, Quincy Jones, Marquez Cogdell, JaCorey Haney, Jacquelyn Burroughs, Felicia Maxwell, & JaQuita Haney; brothers, Jimmy Cogdell, Freddie (Brenda) Cogdell, Johnny (Naomi) Cogdell; sisters, Mary Codgell, Carol Cogdell-Green; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who were near and dear to him, including special friend, Latisha Walton Cogdell. Jackie will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
Celebration of Life service for Jackie Cogdell will be 2:00PM Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church, 5527 Redpoll Avenue, Pastor A. L. Jordan.
