Goggins ~ Ida Mae Goggins was born May 13, 1941, to the late James and Ossie Williams. She was educated in the Duval County Public School System. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church under the Shepherdhood of the late Reverend Lewis N. Yarber. She remained a faithful servant of Mt. Lebanon under the leadership of Reverend Freddie Sumner where she served on the Usher Board and the Hospitality Committee.
Ida was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and so much more to others. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Marcus Devaughn Floyd; brother, Leroy C. Willams, Sr.; sisters, Frances Simmons, Mary Louise Williams, Elease Hayes, Ernestine Williams, Lillian Thompson, Beverly Williams. Ida transitioned to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Ida is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Herman M. Goggins Jr., daughters, Cheryl Anderson, Cecilia Calvin, Carlese Floyd, Carla Goggins, Carlette Davis (Curtis); goddaughter, Sha’rhonda Smith; grandchildren, Derald Calvin, Derek Calvin, Traci Bronner (Garry), Torri Anderson, Gregory Lott Jr., Tiffini Anderson, Allesia Floyd, Steven Anderson, Jared Floyd, Candace Davis; great-grandchildren, Faith, Devan & Rachel Calvin, Joshua, Josiah & Savannah Bronner; sister, Sallie Ann Williams, sisters-in-law, Laura Bell Walker, Delores Sutton (Ulysses), Nancy Chaney, Elizabeth Goggins; devoted niece, Loretta Payne; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Ida Mae Goggins will be 11:00AM Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church, 10325 Interstate Center Drive. Visitation Friday from 5 – 7:00 PM at Mt. Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church, 9319 Ridge Boulevard. Interment in Restlawn Memorial Park South.
