FORD ~ Helen Vivian Ford was born December 26, 1919, in Jacksonville, Florida.
She was the first African American female to be employed with Jacksonville Shipyard. Helen was also employed in private homes; she enjoyed caring for children and family. She loved for people to laugh and to be happy, she never met a stranger. Helen enjoyed shopping and spending money.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, James Ford; sons, Robert and Harold Ford; brothers, Charles and Hugh Hill; and sister, Mary Ford. She leaves to cherish his loving memory, two loving sons, James (Shella) and Richard Ford of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Cheryl Ford, Tiffany Baker, James Ford, Jr. (Sonda), Danette Carpenter (Gregory), Richard Ford, Jr., Eric L. Ford (Doreenkay) and Eric Ford; great grandchildren, Ashlee Baker, Daryon Ford, Sydney and Samara Ford, Rashad Ford, Shamir Mouchawar, Dorothy Clay, Sabrina Clay, Xavier Clay, Francisco Clay and Timmy Clay; great-great grandchildren, Ayva Bates and Markel Oneill; other relatives and friends
Graveside Service for Mrs. Helen Ford will be 11:00 AM Friday, January 31, 2020 at Edgewood Cemetery, 4519 Edgewood Drive, Pastor Tim Cole, Officiation.
