Washington ~ Ms. Gloria Williams was born to the union of Willis and Zadie Williams on March 20, 1938, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was educated in the public schools of Duval County, graduating from New Stanton High School, class of 1956.
In 1958, Ms. Williams was united in holy matrimony to the late Thomas W. Washington, Sr. and this union was blessed with two children, Valencia Yvette and Thomas W. Washington, Jr. Mrs. Washington was a member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church, Reverend Benjamin Williams.
She departed this life February 3, 2025. Mrs. Washington was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Washington, Sr; son, Thomas W. Washington Jr; father, Willis Williams; mother, Zadie Williams; brothers, Leon Williams, Clarence Williams; sister, Anita Aldridge; grandson, Paul E. Hopkins; daughter-in-law, Judy A. Washington. She leaves to cherish her memory, a legacy of love by her family and friends, to include her daughter, Valencia Y. Hopkins; grandson, Brandon J. Hopkins; granddaughters, Ebony F. Washington, Tierra V. Washington; great grandsons, Emiaj Perez, Ehmir Perez, Marlo Hill, Dakari Hopkins; great granddaughter, Goddess King; nephews, Tony Williams (Paulette), Jeffery Williams (Karen), Gregory Aldridge Sr, Gregory Aldridge Jr; nieces, Denise Coleman (Gene), Betty Ann Williams, Tonya Williams, Sherise Aldridge, Deone Aldridge, Latoya Aldridge, Rosemary Jones; cousins, Arnette Love, Annette Blue, Gwendolyn Daniels; sister-in-law, Rose Kirkland (Willie), Wylene Hughes; ex son-in-law, Paul Hopkins Sr; a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Washington was a loving and kind wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. To know her was to love her, she will truly be missed.
Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Gloria Williams will be 12:00PM Friday, February 14, 2025, at Rock of Ages Baptist Church. Visitation Thursday from 5 – 7:00 PM at The Soutel Chapel.
