Gray ~ Gloria Elfreda Wilson was born October 20, 1941, to the parents of Ezekiel Wilson and Ruby Wilson.
“Walkie Talkie, as she was known as a child for walking and never stop talking, had a full and adventurous upbringing. She was enthusiastic about cooking, dancing, and spreading the love of God.
Gloria was married to Raymond Gray, when she was fifty years old, proving that you are never too old to meet the person God has planned for you.
She was baptized May 15, 1999, at Maranatha Seventh Day Adventist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. Wherever she went she would spread God’s love and tell others about Jesus Christ. In Atlanta, she was deaconess, fed the homeless, and visited the nursing homes. She was active in bible study and Sabbath school class. A delightful and joyous spirit-filled child of God, Sister Gloria Gray became a member of the Berea Seventh-Day Adventist Church, St. Augustine, Florida, on November 23, 2019. This is where her deceased brother, Ernestine Wilson and sister, Amira Gayle served respectively as First Elder and Head Deaconess, with her sister, Carmen Wilson presently serving in that position. With her exuberant personality powered by the Spirit of God, Sister Gray, a friend with a faithful heart, loving soul and warm personality touched hearts of her church family and wherever she went. Declaring the goodness of God even in the assisted nursing facility, her beautiful smile and loving heart always encouraged the residents and her visitors. She has left a hole in our hearts.
Gloria rested in the Lord, on February 6, 2025, at 8:15am. Sister Gloria leaves behind her son, Horine Wong; sister, Carmen Wilson; brother, Jonathan Wilson; as well as three grandchildren, four great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Vincent Gayle; and many great nieces and great nephews.
She will be missed but we all remember and appreciate the wonderful gift God has given us in the life that she led.
