Harris ~ According to the enduring word of the Lord, “Whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life,” therefore, on September 9, 2024, Gary D. Harris entered eternal life with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Gary was born in Jacksonville, Florida on July 29, 1961, to lovely parents, Mr. & Mrs. Daniel Harris. He received his education in the public schools of Duval County and graduated from the great Jean Ribault Senior High School class of 1979. After graduating from high school, Gary eagerly and courageously joined the U S Airforce in 1979. Gary was truly a man of many talents, terrific musical jams, and dance moves. He will be forever remembered for his great humor and the laughter he brought to many people’s lives.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Daniel Harris; sister, Candace J. Ellis. He leaves to carry on his legacy and memory, devoted mother, Mrs. Lottie Harris; brother, Daniel Harris Jr.; sisters, Clorenda Holmes, India Bodie, Sylvia Wallace, Cornelia Marion; eight uncles; three aunts; six nephews; five nieces; a host of cousins; other sorrowing relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life service for Gary D. Harris will be 1:00PM Saturday, September 21, 2024, at The Soutel Chapel. Visitation Friday from 5 – 7:00 PM at The Soutel Chapel. Interment in Jacksonville National Cemetery Monday, September 23, 2024, at 2:30PM. Because of the love of his family, arrangements entrusted to J. E.
