GRIER ~
Gary Bernard Grier was born February 14, 1947 in Jacksonville to the late Henry Grier and Annie Billings Walker. He graduated from Northwestern Junior-Senior High School in 1965; then attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU).
Gary served his country faithfully in the United States Army as a staff sergeant and received an honorable discharge. He was employed at Premier Meats as a butcher and as a supervisor at Benton Freights until he became disabled due to injuries sustained during the Vietnam War.
Gary was married to Willie Jean Grier until their divorce in 1970. He was a faithful member of Recovering Ministry, Lake City, Florida. Gary served faithfully until his health began to fail.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife of forty-five years, Charlie Mae Grier; son, Gary Laquon Grier; daughter, Le’Lure (Justin) Taylor; grandchildren; brother, Gene A. Grier; brother-in-law, Randolph (Leatrice) Harris; sister-in-law, Pastor Yvonne C. White; god daughter, Orri Jones; special cousins, Jackie Foster, Geraldine Nelson, Wayne Foster; special friends, Juanita Jones, Johnnie Woodside, Nellene Trimmings, Wendy Cooper; nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
