Morton ~ Fannie L. Blue Morton was born September 18, 1929, in Baker County, Florida to the union of James and Sallie Mae Lee Blue.
At a very early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was a dedicated and loyal member of Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. Sister Morton served as church clerk since November 1974, until passing, was a member of the Trustee Board, president of distract 11 and served wherever she was needed.
Mrs. Morton received her early education in the Baker County school system, and graduated from Stanton High School in Jacksonville, Florida. She received a bachelor’s degree from Florida Memorial College, St. Augustine, Florida, and a master’s degree from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University in Tallahassee, Florida. Mrs. Morton was a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.
She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-six years, Mr. Joseph L. Morton; brothers, Earnest L. Blue, Sr., Benjamin Blue, Dennis Blue, Sr., Samuel Blue, Hollowith Blue; sisters, Willie Mae Paige, Armetta Cason, Gloria Boyer. She leaves to cherish her memories, sister-in-law, Fairy Blue, Buffalo, NY; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, god children and caring friends.
Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Fannie L. Blue Morton will be 11:00AM Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Abyssinia Baptist Church. Visitation Wednesday from 5 – 7:00 PM at The Soutel Chapel.
