Everett Hobson Obituary

Hobson ~ Everett Kenneth Hobson, affectionately known as “Kenneth,” was born on February 1, 1938, in Washington, D.C., and passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of faith, service, discipline, and love.

Reared by parents who were educators and advocates for equality, Kenneth learned early the values of hard work, education, and standing firm in the face of injustice. A gifted student and athlete, he graduated from West Virginia State University with a degree in Mathematics, served as an officer in the United States Army, and later earned his Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law alongside his wife, Norma.

Kenneth enjoyed a distinguished career in law, insurance, real estate, and public service, while also serving honorably in the United States Army Reserve for twenty years, retiring with the rank of Major. Despite his many accomplishments, his greatest pride was his family. Together, Kenneth and Norma reared three daughters with an unwavering commitment to faith, education, and self-sufficiency.

A devoted man of faith, Kenneth served the church faithfully for more than four decades, mentoring young people and offering guidance grounded in wisdom and integrity. Known for his warmth, curiosity, and thoughtful counsel, he never met a stranger and leaves an enduring impact on all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Norma Elizabeth Hobson; daughters Carolyn Roy (Paul), Rosalyn Hargraves (Malcolm), and Anica Hobson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; extended family; and dear friends.

We are grateful for the life he lived, the love he shared, and the legacy he leaves behind.
