White ~ The late Eula Mae White was born October 28, 1930, in Jasper, Florida to the union of William Warren Smith and Zannie Seymour. She was the youngest of three siblings. Her oldest sibling, Zeffie Lee Daniels, age 98, resides in Jasper, Florida and middle sibling, Alene Potts-Banks, age 95, resides in St. Petersburg, Florida. Mrs. White, affectionately known as Big Mama (Susie by siblings and their families), was educated in the public school system in Florida. She later met and married James D. White, a military veteran, and they produced a large family, raising ten children with strong religious values. Mrs. Eula Mae White greatly enjoyed her family, crossword puzzles, visiting the sick, attending Church Services and Evangelism activities. A kind, compassionate and loving child of GOD, Mrs. White cared for and provided outreach services to many in the community. She was preceded in death by her late husband, James D. White; children, Eleanor Joyce “Nan” Jones, Bilal Sufi, Darlean Jones; grandson, Lenford Smith, Jr.
Mrs. White died a peaceful death on Monday, February 12, 2024, while asleep in the comfort of her own home. She was 93 years of age. Widow of a World War II veteran, James D. White, she leaves to cherish her life memories a very devoted family: children, Dr. Veronica Y. White, Orlando, Florida, Janice E. Chanay-Smith, Tony A. White, Kenneth L. White, Jacksonville, Florida, Vanessa A. White-Viverette, Angela F. White-Gracia, Dr. Audrey O. White, Clinton and Bowie, Maryland, respectively; grandchildren, Talmadge (Von) Dixon, William R. White, Kechia White, Omar “Shaun” White, Summer Chanay, Omar N. White, Colonel Ronald White, Jr., Marlena White, LaToya Silcox, Christian H. Green, Letere B. Jones, Melvina White-McKinney, Toni Sufi, Andrea White, Shannon Logan, Jamal Sufi, Dmitri Logan, Zachery James; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Bernice White and Arva Sufi; son-in-law, Manolo Gracia. Mrs. White also leaves behind fond memories with her Philippian Church community, devoted neighbors, and friends.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Eula Mae White, 11 AM Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Philippian Community Church, 7578 New Kings Road. Visitation Friday from 6 – 7 PM at The Soutel Chapel. Interment in Edgewood Cemetery. Because of the love of her family, arrangements entrusted to J. E.
