James ~ Eugene Bernard James, Sr. was born February 25, 1960, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Milford and Mary Alice James. He was a graduate of New Stanton Senior High School, and he received certification in HVAC Installation and Repair from Florida State College of Jacksonville. Eugene was a construction worker by trade, and he also enjoyed detailing cars. He took pride in everything he did. Eugene never met a stranger, and he was always willing to help anyone that needed help. Eugene was a member of Greater Harvest Christian Fellowship, Johnny A. Legons, Pastor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milford and Mary Alice James; stepson, Leshawn Hills; nephew, Shane James. Eugene leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Deborah D. James; sons, Eugene James, Jr, and Adrian James; daughter, Lashika Reid; brother, William (Jake) James; sister, Robin James-Harris; grandchildren, Leshawndra Hills, Lamijah, Armani, Issac, Iyanna, and Messiah James; father & mother-in- law, Warren & Carolyn Smith; brothers-in-law, William Baylock (Phyllis), Ricky Davis (Sherry), Tyrone Davis (Darlene); sisters-in-law, Cassandra Robinson (Emory), Twanya Trotter (Anthony), Antoinette Riles; nephews, Victor James (Jessica) and Jamal Jones (Sabrina), Shedarian Davis ( Sonya), Kevin Davis, Davon Davis, Troy Lewis, Justin Robinson, Tracey Cason (Stephanie), Eric and Marcus William, Jr Baylock, Tory Reid; nieces, Yultecia James, Tia Marie Harris, Tarnekia Mosley (Jerome), Tory Callahan, Nekia Abrams (Anthony), Isha Jones, Shayla Baylock, Takeisha Walker (Gerald), Rodquel Owens (Kenneth); goddaughter, Yolanda Brown; a host of family and friends who will truly miss him.
