Johnson ~ Elisha James Johnson, also known as “Ghetto”, was born October 21,1952, in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Ephron Johnson and Louise McCloud. James was a devoted member of Fresh Start Ministry under the leadership of Pastor Clarence Johnson.
He attended Northwestern High School. James was a dedicated, hardworking employee for Azar & Company. He was a truck driver. James was a man of strength not just in what he did; but in who he was. Strength in his love. He lived his purpose, and he leaves behind a legacy that time cannot erase.
James was loved dearly by all his family including those that preceded him in death to include his father, Ephron Johnson; mother, Louise McCloud; brother, Willie Kirkland, Ephron Johnson, Arthur Lee McCloud; sister; Ruby Marie Williams (Randall); grandson, Dominique (Mobley), Johdeem, Savion; uncle, John Hughes; niece, Brittanie Lundy. He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted significant other, Cynthia G. Kent; sons, Elisha James Johnson Jr. (Shaquila), Antonuis Johnson Sr. (Quntrella); daughters, Angeline Fisher, Kimberly King (Harold), Lashawn (Carlos), Latoya (Devin); grandchildren, Porsha (Darious), Kimeco (Colver), Thomas, Janay, Kilishajon, Derrel (Jasmine), Tekenna, Antonio, Yanna, Jeremiah, Jayanna, Etoye, Car’lyse, Jaizon, Ahmir, Madyson, Antonius Jr, Ava; brothers, Clarence Johnson (Tangie), Lawerence McCloud (Catherine); sister, Pastor Wilhelmina Gilbert (Bishop Forest Gilbert); sisters-in-law, Rose Kirkland, Gwen Johnson, Barbara McCloud; aunt, Wylene Hughes; goddaughter, Viyonce Griffin; a host of great grandchildren; nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and special niece, Latissha Johnson.
Celebration of Life service for Elisha James Johnson will be 11:00AM Thursday, January 22, 2026, at The Soutel Chapel. Visitation Wednesday from 5 – 7:00 PM at The Soutel Chapel.
