Outlaw ~ Earl Thomas Outlaw was born April 29, 1945, to the late William T. and Florine D. Outlaw in Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from New Stanton High School and was a member of the Blue Devils Marching Band. Earl also competed in several body building, weightlifting contest and won the title of “Mr. Atlas”.
He enjoyed building and racing cars. His friends remember him playing marbles in the dirt, playing baseball in the field; on the corner, selling fruit to earn a little extra money. He also enjoyed solving Sudoku puzzles and visits from his classmates and family.
Earl left home to serve in the military and returned to become a long-haul truck driver. At a young age he was a faithful member of West Union Baptist Church where he played the trumpet. He later joined Mt Herman Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor A.L. Jordan, Sr.
On March 23, 2022, God called His Servant home. He was preceded in death by his his first wife, Harriet Outlaw-McCleod; wife, Annie Lois Outlaw; grandson, Stanley Pace, Jr.; parents, William & Florine Outlaw; brother, Lawrence Outlaw. Earl leaves to cherish his memory, children, Marlese Outlaw-Cook (Louis), Earl Outlaw, Jr. (Wanda) and Tanya Outlaw, who was by his side continuously during his last days; grand-children, Louis Cook Jr, Ryan Cook, Earl Outlaw III, Antione Brown, J’mani Pace (extra help in caring for his grandfather), Jania Pace (became a certified nurse’s assistant to assist with her grandfather’s care); a host of great grands; siblings, Gloria Outlaw-Moore, Doris West (Jerry), Michelle Outlaw-Eubanks and Charles Outlaw; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins; many special loving family and friends who came to visit or called him.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Earl Thomas Outlaw, 2 PM Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Mt Herman Missionary Baptist Church, 5527 Redpoll Avenue, Pastor A. L. Jordan, Sr. Visitation Friday from 5 – 7 PM at The Soutel Chapel. Interment at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 11:30 Monday, April 11, 2022.
