Denise Melvin Obituary

MELVINMs. Denise Melvin was born May 10, 1953 to Tom & Prestine Melvin in Jacksonville, Florida, both who preceded her in eternal rest.  Denise attended New Stanton High School, Blue Devils, class of 1971 where she played basketball, volleyball, softball and track and field.  She also participated in the marching band and played the flute.  Denise was the life of the party, she enjoyed dancing and making everybody laugh; or she made you mad sometimes but would always apologize if she hurt your feelings. She loved the Lord and always had morning prayer and scripture.  Denise was a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, moved to Pineview, Georgia and became a member of Mt. Air Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by aunt, Charlie Mae Brown; nephew, Richard Taylor.  She leaves to cherish her memory, loving son, Duane Melvin; grandchildren, Ayanna Walker, Paige & Peyton Melvin, Layla Walker; siblings, Cortez (Annette) Patton, Tommie Lee Balom, LaJoyce Melvin Richardson (devoted sister), Justin, Louis & Jerusha Melvin; aunts, Mildred of Detroit, Dee Dee, Mel & Myrth of Oviedo, Florida; devoted nephew, Jonathan Balom; devoted niece, Tina Melvin; other relatives and many friends.
