Teage ~ Mrs. Deleanor Renal French Teage was born October 10, 1959 in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Zannie and Addie French. She departed this life January 30, 2022. Deleanor graduated from Paxon Senior High School and attended Florida Community College at Jacksonville, n/k/a Florida State College at Jacksonville.
Deleanor worked many jobs which included Stein Mart Corporate Office of Jacksonville, Florida from 1999 to 2012. She enjoyed being busy and loved her family. Her hobbies were playing softball, kickball, volleyball, cooking and baking. She always entertained us at the French’s family reunions which included singing and dancing with her niece, Gwen, and her grandchildren. Her favorite colors were purple and royal blue. She fought a good fight until the end with family and friends by her side. Deleanor will be forever in our hearts.
She accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age. Deleanor was a former member of First Samuel Baptist Church, Miracles of Faith and Philemon Missionary Baptist Church. She later joined Mount Vernon Baptist Church where she served in the choir and was a member of District 8.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Elmer French, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory, children, Fiellah, Addie, Meitta and Sekou; adopted son, Sherman Bell; step-daughter, Kenisha Williams; fifteen grandchildren, Danyetta (Dezia), Tavian, Ayana, Demetrius, Sykei, Sekiyah, Semaj, Senoj, Azaria, Sekayla, Si'year, Bobby, Saige, Kayden, Jalani; great grandchild, Malayah Lowe; brother, Lorenzo (Phyllis) Mack; sisters, Arrie Kirkland, Betty Thomas, Pattie Menchion (Panama City), Mary (Ulysses) Mack, Gail (William) Haigler; godchildren, Dewaza, Rod (Laquita), Amos; godbrother, Michael (Cynthia) Reddick; uncles, Ben Sims, Jr. (Miami), Edward Lee (Eloise) Sims (New Jersey); aunt, Gehazel Sims (Greenwood, Florida); a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and very dear friends.
Deleanor will be laid to rest on what would have been our dad’s 100th birthday.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Mrs. Deleanor Renal French Teage, 11 AM Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, 1462 Prince Street.
