Bryant ~ We celebrate the life and enduring legacy of Ms. Eu Dell Bryant, who passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on September 16, 2025. Born in Dublin, Georgia, on January 26, 1935, to Virgil and Clara Bailey, Ms. Bryant’s journey was one of passion, purpose, and service. She graduated from Washington Street High School, where she began a lifelong dedication to learning, leadership, and uplifting others.

Ms. Bryant earned her bachelor’s degree from Florida A&M University and later completed her master’s degree at the University of North Florida, laying a strong foundation for her future career in education. She devoted her professional life to education and mentorship, serving with distinction as a career counselor at Daytona Beach Community College and as both a schoolteacher and district coordinator for Duval County Public Schools. Her unwavering guidance and support made a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues.

Beyond her work in education, Ms. Bryant was a gifted entrepreneur, proudly owning Dell’s Diversified Bakery in Jacksonville, Florida, where her love of cooking and baking brought joy to the community. Her culinary creations, warm and comforting, reflected the nurturing spirit she was known for.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. As Deacon Emeritus at The Bethel Church in Jacksonville, Florida where she served faithfully, particularly through her work with the diaconate, youth and culinary arts ministries. Her spiritual leadership and mentorship inspired generations and will continue to impact many for years to come.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Clara Bailey; siblings, Eva Cross and Clarence Bailey; granddaughter, Lakia Renee Felix.

Ms. Eu Dell Bryant is remembered with deep affection and gratitude by all who loved her, and her life will continue to be celebrated by those whose lives were touched by her warmth, wisdom, and grace. She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Llewellyn H. Bryant of Palm Coast, Florida; sister, Vera More of Georgia; brother, Vergil Bailey of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Juanda Harrell, Andre Harrell; great-grandchildren, Sha’Tique Martin, Andre Harrell Jr., Amante Harrell, Dreona Harrell, Ayden Harrell, Skylar Coleman; great-great-grandchildren, Shaquille Johnson, Penelope Harrell, Zarial Harrell, Nico Felix. Ms. Bryant is also deeply mourned by her loving and devoted sister-friends, Doris Putman, Willie Grimball, Dr. LaVon Bracy and Sharon Timmons; bonus nieces, Monica Jones-Brown and Mia Jones; as well as her cherished godson, Delmon Smith; goddaughter, the Honorable Florida State Senator LaVon Bracy Davis. 

Celebration of Life service for Deacon Eu Dell Bryant will be 12:00PM Saturday, September 20, 2025, at The Bethel Church, 215 Bethel Baptist Street.  Visitation Friday from 5 – 7:00 PM at The Soutel Chapel.  Entombment in Evergreen Cemetery.
