Dennis ~ Earl Marion Dennis was born to the late James and Mary Dennis in Jacksonville, Florida on February 26, 1940. He was successfully educated in Duval Count public schools and a graduate of Matthew Gilbert High School, in which he was elected as President for the class of 1958. He was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1962. He later retired from the US Postal Service as a Letter Carrier in 1995. He was also a faithful member who served as a Deacon at Bethel Baptist Institutional Church until his death, April 15, 2025.
Earl was a widower who was preceded in death by his son, Keith L. Dennis. He is survived by his four children, Juan Dennis (Miami, Florida), Earl Dennis (Jacksonville, Florida), Lorne Dennis (Norfolk, Virginia), Quichavia (Joshua) Banks (Jacksonville, Florida); eight grandchildren – Jallona, Jaellyn, Eric, Na’veh, Nyla, Charles, Joe’zarayah, and Chief; one great grandson – Jahir; three uncles and one aunt – Robert Ray (Jacksonville, Florida), Harold Dennis (Jacksonville, Florida), Melvin Dennis (Miami, Florida), Vivian Turner (Jacksonville, Florida); two nieces and two nephews (all of whom reside in Philadelphia-New Jersey area)- Elois, Tracy, Derek, Kelvin; a host of other relatives and close friends.
Celebration of Life service for Deacon Earl Marion Dennis will be 12:00PM Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Edgewood Cemetery ~ Graveside. Visitation Friday from 5 – 7:00 PM at The Soutel Chapel.
