Polite ~ Arthur James Polite was born July 8, 1937, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to loving parents, Alfonzo and Katherine Polite. He attended the local schools, served his country in the U S Army and later became a truck driver.
Arthur was a member of Philippi Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Ministry and the Usher Board. He was very outgoing, volunteering with Edward Waters College and assisting with the food bank, taking community computer classes, and was a member of East Florida Baptist Association Brotherhood. He loved the Lord, his church, family and friends dearly. Arthur loved bowling and watching movies, especially westerns.
He is survived by brothers, Bishop Clarence Polite, Elder Alan Polite; sisters, Catherine Swift, Viola Moultrie; dear friends, Elder Leroy (Jacquelyn) Tyler, Vera Davis; a host of extended family and friends, including Philippi Missionary Baptist Church Family and tenants of Morris Manor.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Deacon Arthur James Polite, 10 AM Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Philippi Missionary Baptist Church, 9232 Gibson Avenue. Visitation Friday from 5 – 7 PM at The Church. Because of the love of his family, arrangements entrusted to J. E. Fralin & Sons Funeral & Cremation Services, 5065 Soutel Dr, 904.924.9400.
