Christine L. Ross

Ross ~ Christine Lofton Ross was born September 20, 1948, to the late Izzell and Etta Mae Robinson Lofton, Sr. in Leland, North Carolina. Tina was adopted by her foster parents, the late James T. and Wilhelmina Jackson, at the age of eight years. 

She graduated from Williston Senior High School, class of 1966 in Wilmington, North Carolina.  Tina was employed at Frances Neckwear in Wilmington, North Carolina for many years before locating to Jacksonville, Florida.  In Jacksonville, Tina was employed at McDonalds under the leadership of Mr. Payne for more than thirty years.  She retired from Duval County Public School after thirty years of dedicated service.

Tina was a faithful member of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, and sang on the youth, teen, and senior choirs as a soprano vocalist.  After locating to Jacksonville, Tina became a member of Bethel Baptist Institutional Church.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Izzell Lofton Jr., William Lofton, Ida Lofton, Edward E. Smith, Deloris Washington, Geraldine Wells; and special friend, Dave Washington.  Tina is survived by her god daughter, Thelmisha Brunson; god grandson, Serquail Brunson III; siblings, Jimmy Lofton of Cypress Point, Patricia Lofton of Leland, North Carolina, Ruth Lofton of Raleigh, North Carolina, William Brown of Riegelwood, North Carolina,  Thelma Williams; special cousins, Lawrence "Bubba" Epps, Gwendolyn Robinson,  Bernadette Robinson; 10 nephews, 5 nieces;  special friends, Sheila Moore, Pastor Reginald & Lillian Caldwell, Carey Grant, Errol Grant, Talitha Siplin and family, Tomiko Lyles, Mr. Walter, Mr. Tyrone, Paula Dornes, Mr. Payne and the McDonalds family, Ramona Elementary family; godmother, Claudette Bryant; a host of extended family and friends.

Celebration of Life service for Ms. Christine Lofton Ross will be 2:00PM Saturday, March 8, 2025 at The Soutel Chapel.  Visitation Friday from 5 – 7:00 PM at The Master's Touch Ministry, 4510 Soutel Drive.
